Access to healthcare is critical for families’ well-being; yet many still do not have access to affordable insurance coverage, making it difficult or impossible to access the care they need. The data in this section shows the percentage of New Jerseyans who are uninsured based on the characteristics below. Income is based on the True Poverty Level (TPL)—a more realistic indicator of people actually experiencing deprivation than the federal poverty level.
