Getting Help

LSNJ-LAWTM, New Jersey's Statewide Legal Hotline

1-888-LSNJ-LAWBy dialing a toll-free number, 1-888-LSNJ-LAW (1-888-576-5529), clients can access our statewide legal hotline which provides legal information, advice and referral to low-income residents of New Jersey with civil legal problems (criminal cases are referred). This service is provided at no charge but applicants must be financially eligible to qualify. The hotline handles all cases over the telephone and does not provide ongoing legal representation. All callers are screened for income eligibility prior to receiving services. All calls are strictly confidential. For additional information on the services provided through the hotline, please access our brochures. You may be able to find answers to your legal problems on our self-help Web site, www.lsnjlaw.org. The hotline is open from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

If you are hearing impaired or are unable to contact us during business hours, you may e-mail your inquiry to legalhelp@lsnj.org. Please note that you will still be subject to a financial eligibility screening and other routine intake procedures before we can assist you. We will not be able to e-mail a response to you, but we will try to reach you by telephone at a convenient hour for you.
